ScanMaster — Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Welcome to ScanMaster, developed by JMourkom. ScanMaster is a scanning and document utility application that allows users to scan QR codes and barcodes, extract text, create lists, generate QR codes, create PDF documents, and export or share information.

        ScanMaster is designed with privacy in mind.
        The application does not collect or transmit personal user data to the developer
        and does not sell or share users' personal data with third parties.
      

Most information created or processed by ScanMaster remains on the user's device unless the user explicitly chooses to use an external sharing or export function.

2. Information We Collect

ScanMaster does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, contacts, account credentials, precise location, or personal documents for transmission to the developer.

Scan results, lists, OCR results, generated QR codes, PDF documents, CSV files, and other content created by you are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to the developer's servers by ScanMaster.

ScanMaster does not require you to create an account in order to use its core features.

3. Camera and Device Permissions

ScanMaster may request access to your device camera when you use scanning, OCR, or document-scanning features.

Camera access is used only to perform the feature you selected. Camera images and scans are processed for the requested operation and are not transmitted to the developer by ScanMaster.

If you select an image or document from your device, ScanMaster uses the selected file only for the feature you requested.

4. Local Data and Files

ScanMaster may store application data locally on your device so that features such as scan history, lists, preferences, generated files, and other application functions continue to work after the application is closed.

Files generated by the application, including PDF, CSV, TXT, and QR-code images, remain under your control on your device unless you explicitly choose to share or export them using Android or another application.

5. Third-Party Services

Some ScanMaster features may communicate with third-party services when required to provide a specific user-requested function. For example, barcode information may be queried from a public product-information service such as Open Food Facts.

Such requests are made to provide the requested feature and are not used by ScanMaster to create a personal profile of the user.

Third-party services operate under their own privacy policies and terms. When you choose to share content with another application or service, that service's privacy policy and terms apply to that interaction.

6. Google Play Billing

ScanMaster may offer optional Premium subscriptions through Google Play Billing.

Payments and payment-card information are processed by Google Play. ScanMaster does not receive or store your full payment-card details.

Information necessary for Google Play to process and manage your subscription is handled by Google according to Google's applicable policies.

8. Data Security

ScanMaster is designed to minimize the transmission of user data. Information processed locally by the application remains on the user's device unless the user explicitly initiates an external action such as sharing or an online lookup.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should keep their device protected with appropriate Android security measures.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

ScanMaster does not maintain a developer-side database containing users' personal data.

Locally stored application data can be removed by deleting the relevant content within the application or by uninstalling the application, subject to Android's standard behavior and any files that the user has separately exported or shared.

10. Children's Privacy

ScanMaster does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the application does not require users to create an account or submit personal information to the developer, no personal profile is intentionally created for children.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to ScanMaster, applicable services, or legal and regulatory requirements.

Any updated version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date. We encourage users to review this page periodically.
